Third Interdisciplinary Seminar of ‘Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology’ SAU

On September 26, 2017, the third interdisciplinary research seminar of the ‘Mathematics, Computer Science, and Information Technology’ Strategic Academic Unit took place at the HSE Faculty of Mathematics. Researchers from the Faculty of Computer Science presented their papers at the event.

Dmitry Vetrov, Head of the International Laboratory of Deep Learning and Bayesian Methods, spoke on the application of Bayesian methods in machine learning, and about new mathematical tools that help build scalable algorithms for approximate Bayesian inference, a topic that is highly relevant for work with big data.
